Prologue Shoes is a fantastic new company that creates handmade, sustainable vegan shoes. They are perhaps best known for their boots, sneakers, and bridal collection.
Prologue Shoes was launched in 2022 and is based in Florida, US. They are entirely vegan and cruelty-free and in the process of receiving PETA certification.
I recently received a pair of their best-selling boots (Anette ankle boots) from Prologue and here is my review after wearing them for a few days! I will update the review once I have worn them for a few months to see how they feel and last in the long run.
So read on for my honest review of Prologue Shoes.
Comprehensive Prologue Shoes Review
In this thorough review, I will focus on the company in general and its practices and products. If you are not familiar with prologue shoes yet, after reading this you absolutely will be, and you can make an educated purchase decision.
Background
Prologue Shoes was launched in 2022 and they are based in Florida, US. Prologue was founded by husband and wife duo Sandra and Onur. They manufacture the shoe in Turkey where they operate their in-house production facility. All of their shoes are handmade by artisans, which means their shoes are not made in an assembly line or any other mass-production method.
Prologue shoes ship directly from their facility in Turkey, or their warehouse in Florida, US.
Prologue is best known for its boots, but they have an amazing selection of other shoes such as sneakers and sandals. Prologue has quite a large variety of shoes to choose from. Also, Prologue owns a bridal collection which is branded as Forever & Always.
All of Prologue’s shoes are vegan. is in the process of receiving PETA certification. They should receive it in the first half of 2024. Prologues motto is “First, do no harm” which emphasises their ethical stance. Other values that are important to them are social responsibility, excellence, inclusivity, integrity, authenticity, and love.
Prologue shoes brings new styles and models each season, so their selection continues to grow.
Sizing, Fit & Comfort
In general Prologue shoes are comfortable and fit to size. The vegan leather they use is soft, flexible, and breathable. I find Prologue Shoes comfortable, but I would not recommend them for wide feet. The designs are overall quite narrow and sleek, so they fit better for regular and narrow feet.
Sustainability
Prologue shoes are not mass-produced. They are hand-made by artisans. The company is fully vegan and will never use leather or other animal-based materials in its shoes. They use A wide variety of recycled materials such as nylon, rubber, cork, and more. They are committed to using linings made solely of 100% recycled pet plastic bottles. Some of their models are primarily made of 100% recycled post-consumer PET plastic bottles.
Materials
Prologue Shoes uses recycled polyester, premium PU, recycled PVC, and plant-based leather, such as cactus leather. Also other recycled materials such as nylon, rubber, and cork. And whats best, all of their boots are waterproof!

Prologue Shoes Anette Black Ankle Boots Review
I received Anette Ankle Boots this week as a gift and took them for a spin for a weekend. So for now, here are my first impressions of the boots, but I will update this section later once I have used them for a longer period.
Anette is a beautiful boot. It is very soft and lightweight and goes with almost every outfit. The boots go great with jeans and skirts. The high heel height is also perfect. Your feet won’t get tired when wearing them all day.
As always, the pointed toe is a little bit uncomfortable. Your toes get smushed together, so definitely pay attention if you find regular shoes narrow, these boots might be too tight for you.
The pointed toe has a metal plate for enforcement, so it won’t get looser over time either.
What’s Appealing: Pros
- Beautiful modern design
- Goes with almost any outfit
- Easy to achieve an edgier look
- Style goes with everything in your wardrobe
- Perfect heel height even for longer walks
- Soft vegan leather upper
- Easy to wipe clean
- Great quality stitching
- Metal plate enforcements, so it holds shape weight
- Reasonably priced for this design
- Vegan
- Waterproof
Cons:
- Pointed toe design is a bit uncomfortable
- The insole is not padded
- It is more for fall/spring use rather than winter
What to Consider
- This is not a design for wider feet
